Housing Coordinator- Regional Center
Brilliant Corners - San Francisco Bay Area, CA
$40,000 a year
THE ROLE
The Housing Coordinator will serve as the primary connection between clients with developmental disabilities, case management staff, service providers, and potential landlords and/or property managers. The Housing Coordinator will report to the Program Manager of Housing Services and work with other Brilliant Corners staff to identify/create affordable housing placement opportunities for people with developmental disabilities in San Francisco Bay Area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Connect clients with developmental disabilities to appropriate community-based housing opportunities
•Educate landlords, property managers, families, and community members about the housing needs of people with developmental disabilities
•Research affordable housing options through public housing, nonprofit housing, and other community opportunities
•Assist in mediation of resident conflicts and/or other housing-related issues
•Assist clients with rental applications
•Assist residents in renewing their lease agreements and retaining their housing
•Coordinate and assist with client move-ins
•Maintain regular communication with clients
•Maintain Brilliant Corners’ housing registry database
•Maintain individual client files
•Prepare client profiles
•Maintain progress notes and materials as needed
•Attend meetings as needed
•Other duties as assigned
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical publications, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to write reports and funding applications that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, boards of directors, and public groups.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, area. Ability to apply basic math and geometry concepts to practical situations. Facility with Microsoft Excel and ability to use a financial calculator.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, diagram, and written form and to deal with multiple abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A valid, clean CA driver’s license and a personal insured vehicle are required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position may require frequent travel throughout the great Bay Area for rental showings, Intake meetings, in-home client retention visits and other events in the greater San Francisco-Bay area. Additional travel may also be required.
